Volleyball Recap: Roswell Comes Up Short

Roswell had taken Riverwood down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Hornets fell 2-0 to the Raiders. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Riverwood scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Isabella Katreeb paced Roswell's offense, picking up eight kills. Katreeb got some help from Grace Patterson and her 18 assists. Natalie Chandler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Roswell has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Riverwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-14.

Looking ahead, Roswell will square off against Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverwood, they will face off against River Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
