Baseball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. Naylor Eagles

The Dexter Bearcats will venture away from home to square off against the Naylor Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dexter challenged Smith-Cotton on Saturday. The Bearcats lost 12-6 to the Tigers.

Dexter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gibson Booker, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Naylor was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They came up short against East Carter, falling 16-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Redbirds recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Naylor fell to 2-1. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Dexter's way against Naylor when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Dexter made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
