Discovery Canyon faced Rampart in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Thunder came out on top against the Rams by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Thunder as they're now sitting on six straight.

While Discovery Canyon might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Rampart scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 17-25, 25-19.

Peter McConnell paced Discovery Canyon's offense, picking up 14 kills. McConnell got some help from Bradley Hocking and his 29 assists. Joseph Dang controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Rampart's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Keaton Klich, who had 15 digs and four assists, and Brady Simonis, who had 16 kills and nine digs. Simonis has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last eight times he's played.

Discovery Canyon pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Rampart, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-11.
