Cole Camp took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Everything went their way against the Santa Fe Chiefs as Cole Camp made off with a 9-3 win. For the Blue Birds, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Madilynn Ogle was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Ogle was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Riley Raetz was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Whitworth, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Looking ahead, Cole Camp will face off against St. Paul Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Fe, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
