Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends South Aiken's Winning Streak

South Aiken lost against Airport back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The South Aiken Thoroughbreds fell 34-24 to the Airport Eagles. The Thoroughbreds' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why South Aiken lost, don't look at Tekinia Dixon. Despite the final result, she posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Dixon has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Leading Airport to victory were Ja'Sia Booth and Ijazanae Jackson. Booth dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards, while Jackson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 points gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Mayes, who scored five points.

South Aiken's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Airport, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

South Aiken has already played their next match, a 43-20 loss against Aiken on the 29th. Airport has also already played their next contest (against Midland Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
