League recap: Kiowa County extends winning streak with victory over Fairfield

Adding to the longest winning streak in Southern Plains-Iroquois (8 Man) this week, Kiowa County beat Fairfield 50-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Mavericks.

Minneola lost to Hodgeman County 64-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Joey Harrington threw for 26 yards and ran for 21 yards in the defeat.

Taylin Bird threw for 103 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 6-10 with 0 interceptions.

Trever Powell was a force in the backfield as Kiowa County topped the Falcons.

Powell was a passing and rushing force as Clint Young's team defeated Fairfield.

Bird put up the best numbers in passing as Fowler bested Bucklin. Bird's favorite target this week was Ty Clark, who caught 5 passes for 98 yards.

The Goldbugs' Bird and Clark led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Bird has thrown for 1,183 yards this season, while Clark has 54 catches for 904 yards. Powell from the Mavericks leads the league in rushing with 1,669 yards.

Fowler's Clark is only 96 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Moscow. So far this year, he has garnered 54 catches for 904 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when South Gray takes on Spearville. As it stands, the Rebels are in seventh, while the Lancers are in third.
