On Thursday, it was close, but West Vigo sidestepped Greencastle for a 4-2 victory.

Janelle Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Auten, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlea Funk, who went 1-for-3 with a home run.

Meanwhile, Paris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to Casey-Westfield.

West Vigo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Paris, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

West Vigo was able to grind out a solid win over Paris when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 12-9. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Paris' Becca Minor, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and a double. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for West Vigo to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
