Basketball Recap: Hamburg Takes a Loss

If Hamburg was riding high fresh off their 71-44 takedown of Crossett last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hamburg Lions were outmatched by the Watson Chapel Wildcats and fell 70-34. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Wildcats are ranked 55th).

Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Watson Chapel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamburg will venture away from home to square off against Star City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Star City will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hamburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Watson Chapel, they will take on Crossett at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Crossett: they have been struggling with 11 straight losses at home, while Watson Chapel has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
