Football Recap: West Point Starts off Right with Win over Haleyville + How To Watch

West Point had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Haleyville Lions as they made off with a 30-6 win. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 27-24 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Ollie Howell was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something West Point proved: they limited Haleyville to a paltry -1 yards per carry. The team can thank Rush Lamar for the heroic effort on defense: he. West Point didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.

West Point's defense didn't let Fysher Seymour., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Lamar was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four sacks himself.
