Football Recap: Greensburg Comes Up Short

Greensburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. The contest between the Pirates and the Franklin County Wildcats didn't end well, with the Pirates falling 21-7. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Wildcats are ranked 107th).

Levi Muckerheide threw for 108 yards and one TD. Carson Kilgore was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards. On the ground, Austin Cruz rushed for 61 yards.

As for Franklin County, their record is now 4-2. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Greensburg: they've now won six in a row.

Mason Wewe produced another solid performance rushing for 93 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Greensburg will host Batesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Franklin County, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
