Baseball Game Preview: Godley Wildcats vs. Life Waxahachie Mustangs

Godley has gone 9-1 against Life Waxahachie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will challenge the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Godley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Life Waxahachie will be up against a hot Godley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Alvarado. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

Jackson Duke looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adam Pempsell was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Life Waxahachie didn't have quite enough to beat Kennedale last Tuesday and fell 11-10. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Life Waxahachie's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-2. As for Godley, their win bumped their record up to 22-4-1.

Godley skirted past Life Waxahachie 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
