Basketball Recap: Assumption Comes Up Short

Assumption managed to slip by South Lafourche the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs were dealt a 58-27 loss at the hands of the Tarpons on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Tarpons are ranked 53rd).

Assumption's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for South Lafourche, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Assumption will challenge Covington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Lafourche, they are taking a road trip to take on Morgan City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
