Softball Recap: Brantley County Herons vs. Fannin County Rebels
With a playoff game on the line, Brantley County rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fannin County Rebels as they made off with a 13-3 victory. Considering the Herons have won 13 contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brantley County got a great performance from Mary Hall as she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Hall a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Brooklyn Wildes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple. Lydia Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run.
Brantley County has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Fannin County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-6 record.
