Basketball Game Preview: Live Oak Classical Falcons vs. Brazos Christian Eagles

Live Oak Classical is 0-6 against Brazos Christian since January of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Live Oak Classical is coming into the game hot, having won their last 16 games dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Live Oak Classical really took it to Bosqueville for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-33 win. The Falcons pushed the score to 49-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Live Oak Classical relied on the efforts of Audrey Pahmiyer, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 19 points and three steals, and Ashlyn Helton, who shot 82% from the field en route to 18 points. The matchup was Pahmiyer's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Cordell, who posted six points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Brazos Christian had to suffer through a 56-21 loss at the hands of St. John XXIII.

Brazos Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Live Oak Classical, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Live Oak Classical and Brazos Christian were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but Live Oak Classical came up empty-handed after a 38-37 loss. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
