Bessemer City is a perfect 10-0 against Highland Tech since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to face off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, it was close, but Bessemer City sidestepped West Lincoln for a 35-33 victory.

Bessemer City found their leader in sophomore Izzy Esamirosa, who shot 56% from the field on her way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Highland Tech strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Central Academy of Technology & Arts as they made off with a 49-23 win. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Highland Tech's win came from a few key players Bessemer City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Savannah Butler, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in shooting accuracy (63%). Lily Johnson was another key player, going 7-for-12 to rack up 16 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Bessemer City, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Bessemer City against Highland Tech in their previous matchup back in February, as the squad secured a 57-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
