BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
West Allegheny (Imperial, Pa.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Indians defeated
Blackhawk (Beaver Falls, Pa.) 40-13.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, the Indians was up 30-7 at the half.
West Allegheny expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. WA's lone score in the quarter came on a field goal by
DJ Opsatnik.
A 19-7 West Allegheny victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
In a WPIAL AAA Parkway game next week Blackhawk (0-1) takes on Moon Area, and West Allegheny (1-0) will go up against Ambridge also in a WPIAL AAA Parkway game.
