Basketball Recap: Sulphur Takes a Loss

Sulphur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ada Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Cougars are ranked 74th).

Caron Richardson was nothing short of spectacular for Ada: he went 8 for 13 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Richardson a new career-high in boards. Brock Boyles was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Sulphur's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ada, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Sulphur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-47 victory against Duncan on the 11th. As for Ada, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-54 win against Marshall on the 8th.
