Eunice and Lovington are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cardinals will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eunice will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

While Eunice's win against Jal wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals skirted past the Panthers 4-3. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one run.

Jose Calvillo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Fernando Serna also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Lovington was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to Roswell. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Lovington moved to 9-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Eunice, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eunice has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lovington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Eunice might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Lovington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
