Baseball Game Preview: Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks

The Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Marvin Ridge Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Metrolina Christian Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Friday, Metrolina Christian Academy got the win against St. John by a conclusive 16-1. Considering the Warriors have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Metrolina Christian Academy let Landon Nichols and Jackson Pierce run wild. Nichols went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Pierce scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Those three RBI gave Nichols a new career-high. Chase Raskin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Metrolina Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge faced Cuthbertson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Marvin Ridge fell just short of Cuthbertson by a score of 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Metrolina Christian Academy pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Marvin Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
