King and Carroll are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carroll took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on King, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, King turned things around against Flour Bluff on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Hornets 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since February 26th.

Toby Ritter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because King is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-16-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Christian Saenz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Alex Alejandro was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Gregory-Portland, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Wildcats since May 20, 2021.
Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Flores, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
King's win bumped their record up to 9-16-2. As for Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.
King was able to grind out a solid victory over Carroll in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 7-2. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
