Basketball Recap: King's Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Friendship Collegiate Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King's Christian Academy). They walked away with a 64-57 victory over the Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 150th in Maryland, while the Knights are ranked tenth in District of Columbia).

King's Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Raley out in front who went 8 for 15 on her way to 25 points. What's more, Raley also posted a 53% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alexa Buckley, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

King's Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

King's Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Coming up, King's Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge Takoma Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Friendship Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
