Midlothian won against Bowie on Friday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the North Forney Falcons with a sharp 71-46 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Falcons are ranked 916th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midlothian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Almodovar, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 17 points and three steals. Almodovar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Hardaway, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kameron Johnson, who posted six points and seven rebounds. CJ Sweet also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Midlothian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points over those games. As for North Forney, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Midlothian and North Forney will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Panthers will challenge rival Ennis at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Forney is set to face off against their familiar foe Rockwall-Heath at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
