Baseball Recap: Miami Country Day Takes a Loss

If Miami Country Day was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Riviera Prep last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 16-1 to the Marathon Dolphins on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Dolphins: they've now lost eight in a row.

Miami Country Day saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Ferrer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Miami Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Marathon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Miami Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marathon, they will take on Ransom Everglades at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dolphins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
