Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Lakers vs. Eastside Blazers

The Lakeland Lakers will head out to square off against the Eastside Blazers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Lakeland came up short against Concord and fell 8-4. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Minutemen recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Lakeland got a big performance out of Rylee Amsden, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Reahgan Adams, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Eastside entered their tilt with Fairfield on Monday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Falcons. Considering the Blazers have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Eastside's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Lakeland might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Eastside when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Lakers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
