Softball Recap: Perry County Central Triumphs

Perry County Central posted their closest victory since March 27th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the George Rogers Clark Cardinals, sneaking past 6-4.

Carolyne Moberly looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madison Stacy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylan Hoskins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Perry County Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for George Rogers Clark, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-12 record this season.

Perry County Central will square off against Johnson Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for George Rogers Clark, they will challenge Lexington Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
