Volleyball Recap: Vermilion Sailors vs. Perkins Pirates

Vermilion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perkins Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sailors of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

While Vermilion ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Vermilion saw an underclassman step up: Haley Stepp had 12 digs and four aces.
