Softball Recap: Perry County Comes Up Short

Perry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the McEwen Warriors. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Perry County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for McEwen, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry County will face off against Wayne County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McEwen, they will challenge Montgomery Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.8, the Indians 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
