Paxton has gone 8-2 against Baker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Gators at 5:00 p.m. Paxton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Paxton took on Red Level on Monday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6.
Avionnah Padgett put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Padgett was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Emily Ward made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baker). They blew past Booker T. Washington 26-8 on Monday. Considering the Gators have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Zoe Moncada and Bayleigh Jernigan did most of the damage at the plate: Moncada got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Jernigan got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Moncada a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addalyn St. John, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Baker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Paxton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Baker, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Paxton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Baker struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Paxton took their victory against Baker in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
