Basketball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Brennan Bears 94-22. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-14.

Brennan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Camden Cowgill out in front who went 7 for 12 en route to 19 points along with seven assists and five steals. Kingston Flemings was another key player, going 7 of 12 to rack up 18 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Taft's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-25. As for Brennan, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 28-2.

Looking ahead, Taft will head out on the road to challenge O'Connor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. O'Connor will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Taft surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brennan, they will welcome Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Brennan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
