Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Walnut Hills Eagles

The West Clermont Wolves had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Walnut Hills out 49-46. The win was just what West Clermont needed coming off of a 71-41 loss in their prior matchup.
West Clermont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rayshawn Hubbard out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hubbard has scored at least a third of West Clermont's points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Strause, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javien Jackson, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds. Ty Austin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Walnut Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Clermont only pulled down two offensive rebounds.
West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Walnut Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Clermont will challenge Talawanda at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Clermont is coming into the match with seven straight victories on the road, so Talawanda is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
