Football Recap: Fresno Comes Up Short

Fresno is still winless after their contest against Madera South on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-19 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stallions. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 20, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Justin Caballero was a one-man wrecking crew For Madera South. as he rushed for 81 yards and two scores. Those 81 rushing yards gave Caballero a new career-high.

Fresno's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Madera South, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fresno will take on Sunnyside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Madera South, they will face off against Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rough Riders' defense has only allowed 12.7 points per game this season, so the Stallions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
