The Knox Redskins will face off against the Andrean Fighting 59ers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Knox is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Knox is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Jimtown. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.
Bethany Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Jensen was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cheryl Barnes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Knox lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 4-1 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Andrean entered their tilt with Hebron on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hawks 11-5. Considering the Fighting 59ers have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Andrean also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Sadie Drousias gave up just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Voliva, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Maddy McCoy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Knox's victory bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Andrean, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Knox hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Andrean struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Knox suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Andrean in their previous matchup back in May of 2015. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
