Providence is 1-8 against New Albany since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pioneers will challenge the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Providence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Presley Hegedus (2026) was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Bella Leasor (2025) was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lyric Hertweck (2026) was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

New Albany came out on top against Bloomington North on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs took their matchup against the Cougars 6-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Providence is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for New Albany, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-9.
