Basketball Game Preview: Fike Demons vs. C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons

Fike has gone 8-2 against C.B. Aycock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Fike Demons will host the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Fike is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Fike against Smithfield-Selma as the squad secured a 71-10 win. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 35 points or more this season.

Fike's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamaria Freeman, who posted 21 points. Freeman's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Brewington, who had 21 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for C.B. Aycock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past South Johnston with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-36. Given the Golden Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Trojans are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

C.B. Aycock's win came from a few key players Fike will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Audrey Teasley, who put up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alonna Frederick, who posted 13 points.

C.B. Aycock pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fike, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Fike came up short against C.B. Aycock in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 36-32. Can Fike avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
