Basketball Game Preview: Northwood Academy Chargers vs. John Paul II Golden Warrriors

The Northwood Academy Chargers are taking a road trip to face off against the John Paul II Golden Warrriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Northwood Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with seven straight losses, while John Paul II will come in with four straight wins.

Last Friday, Northwood Academy was beaten by Trinity Collegiate 88-44. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Titans are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, John Paul II was able to grind out a solid victory over Patrick Henry Academy on Thursday, taking the game 60-49.

Northwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for John Paul II, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Northwood Academy came up short against John Paul II in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 57-48. Can Northwood Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
