Basketball Recap: Reese Ford Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hancock County

Tell City hadn't done well against Hancock County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tell City Marksmen strolled past the Hancock County Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 52-35. For the Marksmen, this counts as revenge for the 53-46 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Tell City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Ford led the charge by putting up 17 points and three steals. Ford has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Presley Lloyd was another key player, earning seven points and five steals.

The victory got Tell City back to even at 8-8. As for Hancock County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Tell City will face off against Boonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tell City is facing Boonville at the right time seeing as Boonville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Hancock County has already played their next game (against Fairdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
