Baseball Recap: Wayne Preparatory Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arendell Parrott Academy, Wayne Preparatory Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 19-16 win over the Heritage Leadership Academy Fletchers. This was a revenge game for the Generals: when they faced off against the Fletchers two weeks ago, they had to take a 17-7 defeat.

Wayne Preparatory Academy got a massive performance out of MATTHEW RIOS, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. RIOS is becoming a predictor of the Generals' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was CARSON PRATT, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Wayne Preparatory Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Wayne Preparatory Academy's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Heritage Leadership Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-6-1 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Wayne Preparatory Academy will head out to square off against Riverside Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Generals surely won't give up without a fight. Heritage Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
