Softball Game Preview: Marshall Eagles vs. Gabrielino Eagles

Marshall is 0-10 against Gabrielino since March of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles last Thursday. Marshall lost 25-2 to South El Monte.

Marshall saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eunice Velazquez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Gabrielino fell victim to Arroyo and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 18-0.

Gabrielino's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Marshall might still be hurting after the 32-21 defeat they got from Gabrielino in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can Marshall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
