Soccer Recap: Crimson Cliffs Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Dixie

Crimson Cliffs faced Dixie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 3-2. It was the first time this season that Crimson Cliffs let down their fans at home.

Darrell Meis and Bitner Mitchell scored both of Crimson Cliffs' goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Crimson Cliffs' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Dixie, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Coincidentally, Crimson Cliffs and Dixie will both be playing Hurricane the next time they take the pitch. The Flyers will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
