Baseball Recap: Colbert Beats Coalgate for Their Ninth Straight Win

Colbert waltzed into their contest on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Coalgate Wildcats. Seven seems to be a good number for the Leopards as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Colbert's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Coalgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Colbert will head out to face off against Achille at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coalgate, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Okarche at 10:00 a.m. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
