Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Roosevelt Preparatory Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Our Lady of the Sun Academy Angels by a score of 56-54. The Aces have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Gilmor out in front who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points along with six boards and four steals. Gilmor is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Webster, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Roosevelt Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Our Lady of the Sun Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Roosevelt Preparatory Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wickenburg Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Our Lady of the Sun Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-72 defeat against American Leadership Academy on the 16th.
