Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. Centerville

Springfield is 0-9 against Centerville since October of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Wildcats will head out to face off against the Elks at 7:00 p.m.

Springfield fell victim to Beavercreek and their airtight defense last Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to the Beavers. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Beavercreek are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Centerville kept a clean sheet against Springboro last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Centerville were the better team in the second half.

Centerville's record is now 11-3-3. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-2.

Springfield suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Centerville in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
