Baseball Game Preview: Geneva Panthers vs. Penn Yan Academy Mustangs

Geneva and Penn Yan Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Geneva didn't have quite enough to beat Mynderse Academy and fell 6-5.

Alex Dorrington was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Dorrington is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Penn Yan Academy lost 13-2 to Palmyra-Macedon on Monday.

Penn Yan Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Geneva, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Geneva couldn't quite get it done against Penn Yan Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
