Basketball Recap: Kellen Cripe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Logansport over Hamilton Heights

Logansport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Hamilton Heights Huskies on the road by a 50-35 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Berries have lost by exactly 15 points.

Several Berries players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kellen Cripe, who posted 16 points and six steals. Cripe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Golda Kitchell was another key player, putting up seven points along with three steals and three blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hamilton Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Presley Cherry, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Cherry a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Brown, who had 15 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Logansport's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hamilton Heights, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-9.

Logansport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-6 defeat against LaVille on the 14th. As for Hamilton Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-39 win against West Lafayette on the 14th.
