Baseball Recap: Coastal Christian Centurions vs. Epiphany Falcons

Coastal Christian won the last time they faced Epiphany and things went their way on Thursday too. The Centurions blew past the Falcons 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Centurions.

Hudson Weare was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Coastal Christian is 2-1 when Weare allows one or fewer hits, but 0-9 otherwise. Weare was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Coastal Christian got a big performance out of Carver Cole, who scored two runs and stole three bases. Those three stolen bases gave Cole a new career-high. Callan Barnette was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Coastal Christian picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Epiphany, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Coastal Christian will venture away from home to take on GRACE Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Centurions are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Epiphany, they will square off against New Bern Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
