Preview: Cascade Kodiaks vs. Chelan Mountain Goats
After two games on the road, Cascade is heading back home. They will take on The Chelan Mountain Goats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cascade comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Cascade had to suffer through a rough 53-12 loss at the hands of Omak. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Omak is ranked 124th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-7, which was the final score in Chelan's tilt against Cashmere on Friday. Chelan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Cascade's loss was their 12th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Cashmere and 6-2 Granite Falls (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61% over those games). As for Chelan, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.
Cascade came up short against Chelan in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 21-12. Will Cascade have more luck at home instead of on the road?
