Basketball Recap: East Paulding Falls Despite Big Games from Emman Cooper and Gabe Thompson-Fields

East Paulding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a hard 68-54 fall against the Rome Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-61 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, East Paulding had strong showings from Gabe Thompson-Fields, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 20 points, and Emman Cooper, who posted 13 points and seven boards. Those 20 points gave Thompson-Fields a new career-high. Jonah Hess was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

East Paulding's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Rome, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

East Paulding didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-41 loss against South Paulding on the 8th. Rome does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
