Volleyball Game Preview: Cascade Cougars vs. Henley Hornets

The Cascade Cougars will face off against the Henley Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Cascade heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They came up short against Marist, falling 3-0. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While Cascade was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Henley entered their matchup against The Dalles on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hornets lost 3-0 to the Riverhawks. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Hornets haven't been shut out since back in August.

While Henley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into The Dalles' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 25-23.

Henley's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.

Everything went Cascade's way against Henley in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, as Cascade made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
