Preview: Weimar Wildcats vs. Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats

Weimar is 7-1 against Bloomington since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Weimar Wildcats will take on the Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Weimar proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 36) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ganado and snuck past 36-34. Winning may never get old, but Weimar sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Even though Bloomington has not done well against Ganado recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bloomington enjoyed a cozy 38-23 victory over Ganado. The win was nothing new for Bloomington as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lizette Castillo and Khyli Proctor were among the main playmakers for Bloomington as the former scored four points along with 16 rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Proctor continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory got Weimar back to even at 14-14. As for Bloomington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Weimar, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to Bloomington when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Proctor, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Now that Weimar knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
