Football Game Recap: Towns County vs. Athens Academy

Athens Academy put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put a hurting on Towns County to the tune of 46-8. That result was just more of the same for Athens Academy, who also won the last time these teams played.

The matchup started off well for Athens Academy, whose offense put up 46 first-half points. Meanwhile, Towns County couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 46-0 heading into the break. Although Athens Academy wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war. The victory bumped their record up to 4-0. The loss dropped Towns County's record to 2-3.

Next week Athens Academy take on Prince Avenue Christian at Slaughter Field at 7:30 PM. Each team will be battling to keep their 4-game winning streak alive. As for Towns County, they will face off against Riverside Military Academy. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
